Career Readiness Framework
The Alaska Gateway School District is in the process of developing a College and Career Readiness Framework that will be available soon. All 5th-12th grade (and graduated) students have AKCIS (Alaska Career Information System) accounts to help guide them through career planning. Current students can log in through their PowerSchool account and former students can log in directly on the AKCIS website.
Work Study
The Alaska Gateway School District's Work Study Program has been very successful in helping students prepare for their future careers by matching them with community partners. Eligible junior and senior students are paid through AGSD's RAVE grant and earn elective credit for their work in the community while gaining important career skills. Students can also earn high school credit for jobs they already have outside of the program if they participate in the goal setting, evaluation, and reflection process. Please contact Mr. Peter Park with any questions about the program or view the Work Study Informational Packet.
