Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully earn 22 academic credits in order to graduate as follows:
  • 4 credits - English
  • 3 credits - Math
  • 3 credits - Science
  • 3 credits - Social Studies
  • 1 credit - Health/PE (.5 Health/.5 PE)
  • 1 credit - Technology*
  • 7 credits - Electives**

*Students who pass the technology assessment will have the technology graduation requirement waived, but will then require 8 elective credits to graduate. Students who do not pass the technology assessment can only meet this graduation requirement by successfully completing the Survey of Emerging Technologies course in high school.

**Please note: These are AGSD diploma requirements. If a student wants to qualify for the Alaska Performance Scholarship, additional credits in math, science, and social studies can be earned by taking these core courses as electives. Please see the APS Checklist to review scholarship requirements.
